My Teaching Philosophy

Now we all know that the world has been changing doe years, and with that our education system has changed. Though we have more resources such as technology, I believe that some of the information that children are learning is very complicated. Teachers have to find students motivations, interests, and concerns. Teachers have to know each and every one of their students' strengths and struggles. They have to help their students overcome those struggles, while still having to teach them new information, as well as keeping the information they already know refreshed. Teachers have to encourage student s to be imaginative and resourceful. Students need to learn how to think instead of what to think. Progressive teaching is very structured and has set goals (Cooper and Ryan 2010, p 310). We know that children look up to their parents, and their siblings but what we don't realize is that they are also looking up to teachers. As a teacher, you have hundreds of students looking at what you do and how you act. You are their role model, even if they aren't in your class.  “Be a wonderful role model because you will be the window through which many children will see their future.” – Thomas Mckinnon. Teachers have to be fun, excited for the day, and excited for the learning. This will help the students come in excited and happy.

My vision for the future of teachers, and education is that all teachers are filled with joy and excitement about their jobs. Teachers are teachers solely the purpose of the children. I also hope that the education is more real-world problems. Teach children everything they are going to need in the world. Yes, they need what they're getting taught right now but what about the information that's not being taught. Cursive, Cooking skills, Banking or bills, Job information. Those are real situations that not many people were taught growing up. I am going into the educational field because I want to make a difference for my students, help them learn what they have to and what they need to learn all while enjoying going to school. I want to motivate my children to want to have an impact on the world. I have always thought of teaching as sort of a prize possession, not everybody should or could do. It is a very important job. You get to share your knowledge that you were taught for so many years.
